Tips For The Front Door and First Impressions
I am always intrigued by feng shui and the feelings that a home can emit due to good or bad feng shui practices.
I was reading through one of my favorite feng shui books while the snow was piling up outside my home in Colorado.
The front door is such an important part of presenting positive feelings for those entering the home.
As a Realtor, first impressions of homes are very important.
Here are some useful front door tips.
The size of the front door should be in proportion to the size of the home.
Prune back trees and shrubs that conceal the front door. It needs to be as clear as possible.
Make sure the front door is as welcoming as possible. It needs to encourage visitors.
Wind chimes, door mats, hanging plants and statues of small animals all encourage positive energy through the front door.
The front door should be slightly larger than the back door. This allows positive energy to enter the home easily and stay around for a while before it exits out the back door.
If you have a small, constricted entrance, use a large mirror to make the room appear more expansive.
Paint the front door in a contrasting color to the side of the house to emphasize it and produce positive energy.
Try to view the front entrance as you were visiting the home for the first time. Notice all imperfections and correct them. This will make you happy and create positive energy at the entrance.
